CFA Welcomes Friendship Community Baptist Church!

Glenn, Joe, Tim and Bernie

One of the amazing truths of God's Word is the beauty of a seed. God gave such power to the nature of a seed. Sow seeds and reap a harvest.
"Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows." (Galatians 6:7)

"Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again" (Luke 6:38)

Almost three years ago Ted, Ron and myself went down to Marrero, Louisiana to assist one of our churches and its pastor with post-Hurricane Katrina disaster relief. We went to be a blessing to Pastor McLean and Hosanna Church and returned with a blessing from our ministry there. Today the power of that seed of service was returned to us in the form of a ministry team from a church in Dunkirk, Maryland. We had never met these men before today, but four brothers in Christ came to serve us and be a blessing to our fellowship. They took off of work...they drove 10 hours to get here...they left family behind...they will sleep on church classroom floors...they will take showers outside...they will work long and hard hours...they came to be a blessing!

This group from Friendship Community Baptist Church helped CFA today by finishing the disassembly of all our main floor pews. They salvaged the wood for other future purposes. They stacked the old fabric and foam inserts for removal. They helped to clear out the debris from the toddler wing. They gave to us...because we had given to others in their time of need in the past. The power of a seed....literally awesome!! What seeds have you sown today?

This Monday was another good day. More ministry occured at the HOPE Outreach Center. New workers come in to assist us in our ministry to others. More prayers with people were prayed. More food, clothes and supplies that were given out. Team workers wore their new HOPE shirts today...they looked sharp!

On the rebuilding side of things more drywall was put in. Little by little the opening at the floor level is being closed. The sanctuary and toddler wing are being cleared out of pews and debris. The main platform is being prepped with new sound cords and connection boxes. The communication systems people were in to work on installing our new telephone system wires and main terminal center. Lots of good progress occurred at CFA today. Thanks Lord for the many people that worked to rebuild and restore your house of worship today!

We also were able to accomplish many tasks in our command center as well today. Kristy and Allison worked their regular hours and flew through many of their routine Monday assignments. Pastor Joel helped out with the HOPE Center. I attended the Bartholomew Cty. Long Term Disaster Team meeting at the United Way building today and learned that our community is one of the few counties in Indiana that are on top of things following the Flood of '08. Proud of our people and what we are accomplishing together!

Tomorrow is another great day filled with HOPE. We are still marching in HOPE. Still believing in miracles that God will perform as we trust in Him completely.

As always, please let me ask that you consider making a contribution to our Flood Fund to help us with the huge need of rebuilding and bringing our church family back to 10th & Iowa Streets:
