Columbus, Indiana Flooded! Surpasses Historic 1913 All Time Record by One Foot!!

Listen to what God's Word says,
"But now, this is what the Lord says-- he who created you, O Jacob, he who formed you, O Israel: "Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze. For I am the Lord, your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior." (Isaiah 43:1-3)

Yes, the building where we gathered for worship has been submerged under the Haw Creek waters. Everything was under water. The entire basement was filled up. Clean up now begins...

But the CHURCH is people, not just a building. God's people are resilient. God's people will overcome. God's people will come together. The ministry of transforming lives will continue.

Just this past Friday night we gathered in the sanctuary for our monthly BAL (Beyond All Limits) Prayer Meeting. We prayed. We read scriptures. We prayed for God to bless us in the summer months, and for God to use us. We prayed for God to be with us. Now, this isn't what I was thinking, praying or anticipating. But God's ways are always much higher than our ways...we must trust Him with this.

NOW, the time to be the CHURCH in Columbus is upon us. We must serve our neighbors. We must think of others, better than ourselves. We must volunteer our efforts. We must unite under the banner of Christ with full force and complete surrender. We belong to Him. We will follow Him. We will assemble as one. We will touch this community in ways never before presented to us.

I love you. Be encouraged. God is with us!

Is there anything you and your family or the church is needing right now?

Flooding is mostly in crop areas in west central Indiana, but when drain-off drains into the Wabash, and gets down here in the next couple of days, things may be different.

We're praying for you!
