Brighter Day!
If you've been on my blog for any amount of time you've noticed the artists and songs that I've selected to play on my playlist. Well, I love the song "Brighter Day" by Kirk Franklin. It's got a cool groove to it and has made me look up...there's gonna be a better day ahead (holding onto HOPE for a much brighter day). When God is on your side you've got it made. Because of His love life has a brand new meaning and HOPE shines brighter each day. Look up friend...we're gonna make it!
Took it easier today to get refueled and recharged. I went into the office later than normal and checked on things. Had to sign an important document, meet with contractors, check progress on our HOPE Outreach Center, work with Allison on bulletin and prayer list, make some calls to those from our Outreach requesting the Pastor's contact, plus planning ahead and looking through our mail (nothing came in today for our Flood Fund...but maybe tomorrow - should be a brighter day!).
I've read your comments posted. Thanks for taking the time to lift my spirits today...it means so much to me that you cared enough to write your thoughts and encourage your pastor. We are in this recovery and rebuilding together. This is our church and this is our community. We must pull together and work side by side. In the meantime we are being changed and transformed to serve our Lord in the midst of this flood disaster. Thinking of others, caring for others, praying for others is our direct focus and our persistent drive. We must continue this fight of faith. Join me as we continue to staff the HOPE Outreach Center for as long as we are able to provide relief supplies to those affected by the Flood of '08. Supplies are getting low in certain areas but we will watch how the Lord provides and directs our ministry steps. He has the Master Plan! (Be looking for our new HOPE t-shirt coming soon...)
I planned a nice little diversion for Tammy and Devon tonight...(the boys were working @ Pizza Hut and Ashlyn was at Kid's Camp). We got out of town for some new scenery and some rest and relaxation. We drove to Tammy's all-time favorite restaurant...SONIC! She fell in love with this fast-food hamburger haven while living in Arkansas. We had to drive 30 minutes to find one close to us, but it was well worth the drive...even at $4 plus a gallon of gas. She ordered her normal and was in hog heaven. Devon and I enjoyed our burgers too. After a little shopping we stopped in to Cold Stone Creamery on the way back in to Columbus. This was our first visit to this new ice cream shop on the west side of town. It was fun to splurge a little and enjoy our time together. Thanks Lord for blessing us with a good day!
Looking forward to what God has in store for us tomorrow...it's gonna be a brighter day!
Let me encourage you to watch this powerful little video that someone in our church passed along to me...great visionary stuff! http://www.212movie.com/ Keep pressing on...
Keep looking up!
Keep praying for us here in Columbus, Indiana!
Keep believing with us that we will rebuild our regional ministry center debt-free!
Help us with your donation to the flood fund: www.columbusfirstassembly.org
Every day is a great opportunity to live for Him!
Love to all!
