New Year: New Worship Center Will Be Finished!

Happy New Year!

Last week I took some extra time off. Been a long journey on our rebuilding project. Can you believe it is soon to be seven months since the Flood of June 7th, 2008? Time moves on!

We now have entered a New Year! This will be the year that our church gets back on track. Most areas of our regional worship center will be restored when it is all said and done. It will be a drastically different facility when the rebuilding project is totally completed. Everyone will be amazed at the positive changes that this catastrophic flood brought on.

One of the important spiritual events here @ CFA to begin the New Year is our Week of Prayer. We launched the Week of Prayer yesterday in our services. I preached on "What if...?" in the Morning Service. It dealt with the wonderful possibilities if God's people prayed and maintained the lifestyle of prayer throughout 2009. God gives us so many precious promises...we simply just can't afford to live without it!

There are four main events to our Week of Prayer:
  1. Communion Prayer Service....Sunday, Jan. 4th @ 6 pm. We had a great gathering last night at our prayer service.
  2. Family Prayer Rally...Tuesday, Jan. 6th @ 7 pm. This will unite all our ministry groups together for this great prayer encounter.
  3. Three Prayer Breakfasts...Wednesday, Jan. 7th @ different morning times. Anticipating some good fellowship times of community prayer. Members can pick the breakfast that works best for their schedule.
  4. Promise of Pentecost Prayer Service...Friday, Jan. 9th @ 6 pm. This night will feature the promise of the Holy Spirit baptism. This gift will be focused on and special opportunity given to receive it.

If you are a part of CFA then let me strongly urge you to participate in all four events...now just three left!

Work still continues on our church. Drywall is just about up in all areas. Next will be the mudding contractors. Plumbers are still working on all three bathrooms. Heating contractors are still installing ductwork. Builders have erected another main column post in the basement. Electricians still work on remaining minor projects.

One of our prayers this week has been and will be for God to amaze us with financial provisions to complete this overwhelming Flood Reconstruction Project here @ Columbus First Assembly. The total funds still needed to rebuild DEBT FREE are in the area of $225,000!!! Would you believe with us for God to supernaturally supply this amount for our church? I BELIEVE...how about you? Let's agree together according to Matthew 18:19!

Anticipating an awesome and amazing year filled with God's goodness and mercy!

Love to all!
